Fear of Men - Mosaic (2012)

For Fans Of: Dum Dum Girls, Wild Nothing
Genre: Indie, Dream Pop, Shoegaze
Website: Bandcamp

Description:
Another band that I normally don't put up, but thought could use some attention. Fear of Men are this up and coming dream-pop/shoegaze band out of london that have struck a chord with me compared to others that have played that same old dreamy/indie shit that I'm sure everyone knows. If you follow Gorilla Vs Bear - you've probably heard of these guys. If not - you should still here about these guys. I'm not sure if everyone here likes the dreamy/shoegaze sound of modern indie, but great things are gonna come from this band when their full length comes out later this year. Get into it.

Bedroom Eyes - What Are You Wrong With (2012)

For Fans Of: The Meeting Places, The Promise Ring, Everyone Everywhere
Genre: Shoegaze, Post-Rock, Emo
Website: facebook / Bandcamp

Description:
Bedroom Eyes are a post-rock/shoegazy type band from New Hampshire (apparently they were named "best new band" by some obscure publication I think called The Phoenix?) that include members from Bravo Fucking Bravo, Pathos, L'antietam, and The River Bottom. As usual they tend to have that stapled Explosions in the Sky sound that makes the genre its own. However, what's sort-of different about this band is the amount distortion and reverb they use on their guitars; giving it an extra crunchy sound that makes their songs interesting. "Weak Beak" is probably my favorite song on this LP; it truly shows the band at their best. As far as the rest of the album goes, it's an easy listen without many other tracks standing out; sort of blending together into one big song. I still recommend downloading this thing if you're a fan of that shoegaze stuff (I really wonder if they named their band after that Dum Dum Girls' song).

deafheaven - Demo (2010)

For Fans Of: Orchid, Liturgy, Wolves in the Throne Room
Genre: Black Metal, Screamo, Shoegaze
Website: Bandcamp

Description:
Whatever predispositions you have against black metal; the outragious outfits, the satanic ritualistic type shows, etc, deafheaven are a band that shatter those beliefs. Deafheaven are one of the newly emerging black metal bands that are changing the genre by adding a new spin on it (think if Black Metal had a screamo bastard child). They combine post-rock, Orchid-esque vocals, along with atmospheric shoegaze influences to create this new innovative form of black metal that is just ridiculous - not to mention groundbreaking. This is a must have for any screamo fan, get it NOW.
